SUMMARY:NCMS Lone Star Chapter Meeting - August 2025
DESCRIPTION:Announcing our next Chapter Meeting on Wednesday\, August 13th! \nWe are pleased to offer you an in person Chapter Meeting – at HID Global! \nAgenda:\n11:00am – 11:30am Arrival\, Check-In\, Networking\, and Lunch\n11:30am – 11:45am Chapter Business\n11:45am – 12:45pm DCSA Updates & Cyber CISA Briefings\n12:45pm – 1:00pm Break\n1:00pm – 2:00pm Active Shooter \nMery Neal is the Field Office Chief of the San Antonio Field Office. She will present NISP updates and lead an informal Q&A session. The Cyber CISA Briefing will include information about all Cyber support\, JCITS and JMITT programs that are available to all Cleared Contractors. \nIn the past two decades\, mass shootings have been thrust into public consciousness. Research has shown however that many of the mass attacks\, or active attack events\, are over before law enforcement responders arrive on the scene. Civilians who find themselves embroiled in such an event must be prepared to take immediate action to save their own lives before law enforcement arrives. The average response time for police response to an active attack event is three minutes. Without effective\, preplanned response options at the scene of the attack\, many victims can be seriously injured or killed during these three minutes. This presentation is built on the Avoid\, Deny\, Defend (ADD) / Run\, Hide\, Fight strategy and highlights the Avoid\, Deny\, Defend (ADD) / Run\, Hide\, Fight recommendations that can be used to survive an Active Shooter Event. \nNCMS Lone Star member\, Dean Young\, ISP® is the Physical Security Manager for HID Global Corporation in Austin\, TX. Dean will lead us through this presentation to help you\, your loved ones\, and your colleagues survive such an event. \n\nHID has graciously offered to host our Chapter Meeting and is providing lunch (Brotherton’s BBQ with sides and salad)! Make sure you join us at HID Global location:\n611 Center Ridge Dr\, Austin\, TX 78753 \n\nJoin us for this educational and networking opportunity!
