Announcing our Chapter Meeting on Tuesday, April 28th!
We are pleased to offer you an in person Chapter Meeting – at HID Global!
Agenda:
11:00am – 11:30am Arrival, Check-In, Networking, and Lunch
11:30am – 11:45am Chapter Business
11:45am – 12:45pm Navigating CMMC and CUI Part 1
12:45pm – 1:00pm Break
1:00pm – 2:00pm Navigating CMMC and CUI Part 2
Dr. Andrea Kelley is the Principal Consultant at The Kelley Consulting Group, specializing in defense contractor security compliance and operational workflow modernization for small-to-mid-size DOD contractors. Joe Neil, ISP® is the Lead Compliance Manager and Founder at Red Gecko Security. Together they will present Navigating CMMC and CUI: What FSOs, ISSOs, and ISSMs Need to Know.
CMMC became active in November 2024 but is widely misunderstood; it is not a blanket requirement and must be present in a contract via DFARS to be enforceable. This two-part session will cut through the noise and provide practical guidance for security professionals on when CMMC obligations kick in, how requirements flow from primes to subs, and why preparing now matters even if it isn’t in your contracts yet. Attendees will also learn which internal relationships to build across their organizations to ensure they are never caught flat-footed when compliance requirements arrive. Part two will cover CMMC levels, Importance of Scoping, the difference between self-assessment and third-party assessment, system boundary definition, the audit process, and real-world lessons from a C3PAO assessment.
HID has graciously offered to host our Chapter Meeting and is providing lunch (Brotherton’s BBQ with sides and salad)! Make sure you join us at HID Global location:
611 Center Ridge Dr, Austin, TX 78753
