DoD is expected to finalize the next puzzle piece in the CMMC program before the end of this fiscal year. By Jan. 2026 (and maybe sooner), CMMC requirements will begin showing up in contracts. That’s only about 6 months from now. CMMC implementation can take 6-12 months, and sometimes longer. You NEED to start your CMMC journey NOW, or you will not be able to participate on DoD contracts. This session provides an overview of the 12-step journey to CMMC compliance to help you build your own roadmap and help you start your journey.

In the past two decades, mass shootings have been thrust into public consciousness. Research has shown however that many of the mass attacks, or active attack events, are over before law enforcement responders arrive on the scene. Civilians who find themselves embroiled in such an event must be prepared to take immediate action to save their own lives before law enforcement arrives. The average response time for police response to an active attack event is three minutes. Without effective, preplanned response options at the scene of the attack, many victims can be seriously injured or killed during these three minutes. This presentation is built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) / Run, Hide, Fight strategy and highlights the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) / Run, Hide, Fight recommendations that can be used to survive an Active Shooter Event.
NCMS Lone Star member, Dean Young, ISP® is the Physical Security Manager for HID Global Corporation in Austin, TX. Dean will lead us through this presentation to help you, your loved ones, and your colleagues survive such an event.
HID has graciously offered to host our Chapter Meeting and is providing lunch (Brotherton’s BBQ with sides and salad)! Make sure you join us at HID Global location:
