The Lenita Roberts Chapter Award is presented annually to the Chapter that has self-identified as needing financial assistance to provide quality local training to its chapter members. NCMS Chapters in good standing with bank balances of $2500 or less are eligible for this award.
History
Lenita Roberts was the Chapter Chair for the Texas Gulf Coast Chapter. She led their chapter to attain four Chapter of Excellence Awards in 2011 to 2014.
This award was approved by the 52nd Board (2015-2016) and was conceived by many past and present Chapter Chairs who wanted to honor the memory of NCMS member Lenita Roberts, who passed away in 2015. They felt that her passion and unselfish actions for NCMS, its members (especially new and struggling chapters), and its mission warranted that her memory be honored in the form of an annual award of $1500.00 to be given to a chapter needing monetary assistance to provide quality training to its local membership.
